The reigning TCR UK Champion arrives at the 3.67km circuit in excellent form after claiming his maiden TCR Europe podium for the Brutal Fish Racing Team during a dramatic weekend of action on Austria’s Red Bull Ring earlier this month.
“I’m hopeful of another strong weekend in Germany;” commented Lloyd. “We’re coming off the back of our most successful result so far in Austria. We know that the Honda is performing well, but I think we will have a battle on our hands against the Hyundai’s, especially on such a high-speed circuit. We’re also carrying an extra 20kg this weekend, so we’ll need to manage our tyres well.”
27-year-old Lloyd last raced here in 2017, where he claimed his first-ever TCR International podium with a P2 finish for the Craft Bamboo Racing squad.
“I love the circuit. I have happy memories of racing here;” added the ABRACS and Mend-A-Hose-backed racer. “I took my first-ever TCR International podium here a couple of years ago, so I’m looking forward to a return visit.
“We’ve had a slow-burn start to the season, but getting our first podium at the Red Bull Ring was a great boost. We really deserved that result. I’m hopeful that we can carry that momentum into this weekend, and collect some more silverware and points in Germany.”
