All roads lead North as Lloyd looks to extend TCR Championship advantage

Daniel Lloyd makes his return to the TCR UK Championship with WestCoast Racing this coming weekend as the UK’s newest tin-top racing series arrives at the picturesque Knockhill Circuit in Fife.

Straight off the back of his superb pole and double race winning performance during the inaugural weekend at Silverstone last month, Lloyd re-joins the three-car squad for the reverse circuit double-header on the 1.3mile track with the hope of retaining a full season drive.

26-year-old Lloyd heads into rounds 3 and 4 with an impressive 25-point lead at the top of the Championship standings having scored the maximum number of points available during the season opener. The WestCoast Racing squad also arrives in Scotland looking to defend its 88-point lead in the Teams’ Championship.

“After such a brilliant opening weekend, I’m delighted to be back with WestCoast Racing again;” commented Lloyd. “We’ve got a fantastic head-start going into the weekend with a strong lead in both Championships, but we can’t afford to be complacent.”

“Most of my efforts have been focussed on working hard to pull the budget together to try and nail down a full campaign this year;” added Lloyd. “We’re close, but not quite there yet. We’re still looking for the final few sponsors to allow us to pin down a full season.

“The racing at Knockhill is always super-close and exciting and driving the circuit in reverse layout is going to be mega! We know we have a strong car and the guys in the team having been working hard to move the car on even more since Silverstone, so I’m sure that we’ll be fast out of the box again this weekend.

“I hope that we get the chance to show our full potential as I know we have a package capable of winning the Championship.”

Rounds 3 and 4 of the TCR UK series take place on Knockhill Circuit, Fife on May 12/13. Saturday May 12th plays host to a morning free practice session at 09:55 before a 30 minute qualifying session at 14:55.

Both 30 minute races take place on Sunday 13th May at 10:25 and 14:25 with live streaming available via the official TCR UK YouTube channel:
